La cohorte ANRS CO22 Hepather est constituée de patients atteints du virus de l’hépatite B – VHB et/ou du virus de l’hépatite C chronique, aigüe ou guérie.
Il s’agit d’une étude observationnelle multicentrique sous forme de partenariat public et privé avec un recueil prospectif de données et la constitution de collections biologiques au sein de 38 centres experts en hépathologie.

Les données des patients sont collectées lors d’une première visite d’inclusion et lors de visites de suivi annuelles. Le 18 juillet 2018, la commission nationale informatique et liberté – CNIL, a autorisé le chainage des données avec celles du Système National des Données de Santé – SNDS, pour les personnes qui y auront consenti par écrit.
La période d’inclusion qui a débuté le 06 août 2012 et qui devait initialement s’achever le 31 décembre 2015 est prolongée au 30 juin 2018 en France et au 30 avril 2019 en Belgique suite à l’intégration des patients issus des cohortes ANRS CO12 CIRVIR (Cohorte prospective multicentrique de patients atteints de cirrhose virale B et/ou C non compliquée) et ANRS CO23 CUPILT (Observatoire des patients transplantés hépatiques présentant une récidive virale C traités par un agent antiviral direct). Le suivi s’effectuera sur une durée moyenne de 7-8 ans.
Sur les 25.000 patients attendus, 22.000 patients environ participent à l’étude à ce jour, dont 14.660 patients atteints d’une infection par VHC active ou passée et 6.257 patients atteints d’une infection par VHB aiguë ou chronique.
Parmi les informations collectées sont recherchés les événements de santé particuliers comme l’histoire de la maladie, les antécédents médicaux, la charge virale à l’inclusion, la survenue de cirrhose ou cancer, les décès, les maladies cardio-vasculaires, les traitements pris et les changements de traitement, la survenue de fibrose, de complications, de réinfections et Evénements Indésirables Graves – EIG.
Un questionnaire sur la qualité de vie est également adressé aux patients.
Les données sont stockées sur des serveurs sécurisés.
La cohorte ANRS CO22 Hepather constituera une plateforme de recherche pour répondre aux questions clés, comme la progression de la maladie et ses complications, et pour évaluer l’innocuité et l’efficacité des traitements antiviraux dans la vie réelle.
Cette étude a été autorisée par le CPP Ile de France 3, l’ANSM et la CNIL.
